Hello

Hello,

This new blog is about quilting, travel, and life, but mostly quilting. It will feature in progress posts about various projects for my Etsy shophttps://www.etsy.com/shop/MaeveBran.

Right now I'm getting ready for the unusual holiday of Saint Dwynwen's Day on January 25. What is that you ask? It is the day that the Welsh celebrate lovers. Saint Dwynwen is Wales' patron Saint of lovers.  https://www.visitwales.com/explore/traditions-history/st-dwynwens-day My husband and I celebrate this day instead of the more common Valentine's Day because the hubby hates the commercialization of February 14 and flowers and such like are less expensive in January. But even if you don't join us in celebrating St. Dwynwen's Day the same collection of mug rugs, potholders, and quilts will still be appropriate for Valentine's Day.

The new collection will be called "The Cariad Collection". Cariad is Welsh for love. This collection features pink, white, rose, and black fabrics, Most specifically the Moda Grunge fabric. The phrases depicted are in Welsh. "Cariad yw Popeth" - Love is everything, "Cwtch"- a hug that conveys a sense of home and belonging, "Fy Cariad"- my love, "Yn Fy Nghalon Am Byth"- In My Heart Forever. The depicted combinations are just a few of what is coming to the shop by the end of the week.
